IKEGAI VT1100 Vertical Turret Lathe

CNC Upgrade Service for Ikegai VT1100

Ballscrew Guys contracted to do ball screw service to an Ikegai VT1100 vertical turret lathe. This is the second VT1100 we worked on as part of a CNC controller upgrade. Ballscrew Guys works in conjunction with other CNC repair specialists who focus on FANUC upgrades to your older NC and outdated CNC machines. Please contact us if you are looking for suggestions to modernize your machinery.

The Ikegai VT1100 vertical turret lathe with protective work area doors shut. This machine tool has seen some mileage, but it still produces parts. The customer wanted to modernize this machine center but could not find a comparable machine as stoutly built and fitting in the same floorspace. They chose to update the turret lathe they already owned.

Here the covers have been pulled back, exposing the X-Axis ball screw. This is an Ikegai VT1100 vertical turret lathe. The machine head is pushed to one side of the axis to gain access to the ball nut. This machine was loose due to the number of hours it was in production and age.

X-Axis ball screw getting service to restore the preload. The Z-Axis was judged to be sound, which is very common. Gravity gives some assistance in maintaining Z-Axis positioning. While this machine is older and could use a coat of paint, its bones are good and can provide decades more use with some updating and modernization.
